Who is Wave

Wave Chow (Chow Wing Kai) is a distinguished leader in the insurance industry. After graduating from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University with a degree in Electronic Engineering in 1997, he resolutely embarked on a career in insurance as a financial planning consultant.

Driven and committed to continuous professional development, he obtained his CFP certification before the age of 30 and has since accumulated 15 professional qualifications. He is now a highly experienced financial planner and Senior NLP Practitioner. His achievements are remarkable and have earned him numerous accolades. As early as 2000, he received the HKMA Outstanding Young Salesperson Award (OYSA). Within just over a year of entering the industry, he became an MDRT member. Even amid the 2009 financial crisis, he successfully qualified for MDRT Life Membership and was honored with the MDRT Quarter Century Membership in 2024. He has also been recognized by the Hong Kong Federation of Insurers (HKFI) as Insurance Agent of the Year. In 2019 and 2020, he was named Asian Best Insurance Leader and Asian Best Digital Leader respectively by Singapore-based media Asia Advisers Network, demonstrating his pioneering position in the industry.

Beyond his personal accomplishments, Mr. Chow's leadership abilities are equally outstanding. He leads the UTOPIA team, which comprises over 600 highly educated professionals with an average age of just 31. The team's educational credentials are exceptional, with 96% holding university degrees and 70% possessing graduate degrees or higher. In 2016, the team set a world record as the "Team with the Highest Percentage of MDRT Members in the World," with COT and TOT members accounting for 38.7% — truly the industry's "galactic fleet." UTOPIA is the only insurance and financial planning team in Asia to hold dual ISO certifications: ISO 9001 (Quality Management) and ISO 10002 (Customer Satisfaction Management), reflecting its unwavering commitment to professional standards and client service.

Mr. Chow is also passionate about knowledge sharing. Over the years, he has been a prolific writer, contributing columns to prominent Hong Kong financial publications including Hong Kong Economic Journal, iMoney, Economic Digest, and ET Net. He has authored eleven books, with titles such as 100% MDRT, Selling Soul, Selling Soul 2.0, Big Cases, and Cold Call reaching bestseller status at Hong Kong's Eslite and Commercial Press. His acclaimed work Big Cases has been distributed to Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Indonesia, and beyond, earning widespread readership across the region.

Additionally, Mr. Chow is frequently invited to speak at events both domestically and internationally, sharing his extensive expertise in financial planning, investment, sales, marketing, service, motivation, image building, and interpersonal communication. Over the past decade, he has delivered more than 400 presentations to audiences exceeding 100,000 people, establishing himself as a highly sought-after and experienced speaker.
